A testimony

– Substantiated statement, testimony, proof. The testimony had OT credibility if it was endorsed by at least two witnesses:

Num 35:30 : Every man who kills another shall be put to death, after hearing the witnesses.

Deuteronomy 17:6 : On the testimony of two or three witnesses, whoever has to be killed will die.

Deuteronomy 19:15 : Only one witness will be admitted against a man, whatever the crime, fault or misdemeanor.

Mt 18:16 : So that the whole question may be resolved by the decision of two or three witnesses.

2Cor 13,1 : By the testimony of two or three witnesses the whole question is resolved.

1Tm 5,19 : Do not receive an accusation against an elder, except by two or three witnesses.

Heb 10:28 : If anyone transgresses the Law of Moses – and this is proved with two or three witnesses.

– False witness was condemned:

Ex 20,16 : You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

Ex 23,1 : Thou shalt not raise a false rumor; Thou shalt not give thy hand to the wicked to bear false witness.

Deut 5:20 : Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.

Deut 19,16-19 : If a false witness is brought forward against a man, accusing him of an evil deed.

Pr 6,16-19 : A false witness who utters lies and he who sows discord between brothers.

Pr 12:17 : A sincere man proclaims righteousness; the false witness utters a lie.

Pr 14,5.25 : A faithful witness does not lie; the false witness utters falsehoods.

Pr 19,5.9.28 : False witness does not go unpunished; he who speaks a lie will not escape.

Pr 21:28 : A lying witness will perish, but the man who listens will always be able to speak.

Pr 24:28 : Do not be an inconsiderate witness against your neighbor.

Pr 25:18 : Club, sword, piercing arrow: such is he who bears false witness against his neighbor.

Dan 13:61-62 : Two elders whom, by their own statements, Daniel proved to have given false witness.

– The Father bears witness to Jesus:

Mt 17,5 : Behold my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; I heard it.

Mk 1:11 : And a voice came from heaven: “You are my beloved Son; in you I set my affection.”

Mk 9,7 : A cloud then formed and covered them with its shadow; and from the cloud came a voice.

Lk 1:32 : He will be great and will be called Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give him the throne of his father David.

Lk 9:35 : Then a voice came out of the cloud: “This is my beloved Son; I heard him!”.

Jo 3,11.32 : Verily, verily, I say to you, we say what we know and testify to what we have seen.

Jo 5,36-37 : But I have a greater testimony than that of John, because of the works that my Father gave me to do.

Jn 6,44-45.63 : No one can come to me if the Father, who sent me, does not draw him; and I will raise him up on the last day.

Jo 8,18 : I bear witness of myself; and my Father, who sent me, gives it too.

Jn 10:25 : The works that I do in my Father’s name, these bear witness to me.

Jn 12:28 : “Father, glorify your name!” At that there came a voice from heaven: “I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.”

1Pt 1,17-18 : If you invoke as Father the one who, without distinction of persons, judges each according to his works.

1Jn 5,9-10 : We accept the testimony of men. Now greater is the testimony of God.

– The Holy Spirit:

Jn 14:26 : But the Paraclete, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things.

Jn 15:26 : When the Paraclete comes, whom I will send you from the Father, […] he will bear witness to me.

Acts 5:32 : We are witnesses to this fact, we and the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to all who obey him.

Heb 10:15 : This is what the witness of the Holy Spirit confirms for us.

1Jn 5,6-7 : And the Spirit bears witness to him, because the Spirit is the truth.

– The prophet: John the Baptist:

Lk 24,25-27 : O people without intelligence! How slow of heart you are to believe in all that the prophets have announced!

Jn 1,7-8,15,19-20,32 : This man came as a witness, to bear witness to the light, so that all might believe through him.

John 3:26 : Master, he who was with you across the Jordan, to whom you bore witness, behold, he is baptizing.

Jn 5,33-34 : You sent messengers to John, and he testified to the truth.

Acts 10:43 : Peter stayed many days in Joppa, with a tanner named Simon.

Is 9,1-2 : The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light.

Jer 23 :5 : I will make David sprout a righteous shoot who will be king and rule wisely and exercise justice in the earth.

Jer 33,15-16 : And in those days and in those times I will make a righteous shoot to be born of David.

Ezekiel 34:23 : To shepherd them I will raise up one shepherd, my servant David.

Mq 5,1 : But you, Bethlehem of Ephrata, so little among the clans of Judah.

Zech 3,8 : Hear, O Joshua, high priest, you and your colleagues who sit before you.

Zec 6,12 : And you shall say to him, “Thus says the Lord of hosts: Behold the man, whose name is Branch”.

Zech 9,9 : Rejoice, daughter of Zion, shout for joy, daughter of Jerusalem.

1Pt 5,10-11 : The God of all grace, who called you in Christ to his eternal glory.
