– Acceptance of the Word and will of God:

Ex 5:2 : Pharaoh replied: “Who is this Lord, that I should obey him in letting Israel go?”.
Deut 4:30 : When all these evils have fallen on you, […] you will return to the Lord your God and listen to his voice.
Deut 15:5 : As long as you faithfully obey the voice of the Lord your God, carefully putting his commandments into practice.
Deut 26:17 : Today you made the Lord your God promise that he would be your God […] by faithfully obeying him.
Joshua 24:24 : We will serve the Lord our God –, the people answered Joshua – and we will obey his voice.
– One must obey God rather than men:
1Mc 2,15-26 : Envoys from the king came to Modin to impose the apostasy and oblige sacrifices.
2Mk 7 : Seven brothers were arrested one day with their mother, and the king […] wanted to coerce them to eat the forbidden pork meat.
Dan 3:16 : They replied to King Nebuchadnezzar: “It is useless to answer you about this”.

– Obey constituted authorities; Jesus gave us the example:

– Obedience regulates relations between authority and people:
Mt 17,24-26 : They approached Peter and asked him: “Does your teacher not pay the didrachma?”.
Mt 22:21 : Then Jesus said to them, “Give back to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s and to God the things that are God’s.”
Mk 12:17 : Jesus then replied to them: “Render therefore to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s”.
Lk 20:25 : Then he said to them, “Give back to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s and to God the things that are God’s”.
Rm 13,1-2 : Everyone must be subject to the constituted authorities, because there is no authority that does not come from God.

– Jesus, model of obedience to the Father:
