– Here, in a religious sense, it refers only to God in virtue of his love for Israel:

Ex 4,22-23 : You will say to him: “Thus says the Lord: Israel is my firstborn son”.

Deut 14:1-2 : You are the children of the Lord your God.

Deut 32 : Is this how you thank the Lord, frivolous and foolish people? Is he not your Father, your Creator?

Is 63,16 : Because you are our father. Abraham, indeed, ignores us, and Israel does not know us; it is you, Lord, our father.

Is 64,8 : And yet, Lord, you are our father; we are the clay of which you are the potter.

Jr 3,19-22 : And I added: You will call me: my father, and you will not deviate from me.

Hos 11 :1 : Israel was still a child, and I loved him already, and out of Egypt I called my son.

– And for all men:

Wis 14,3 : But it is you, Father, who govern him by your Providence.

Eclo 23,1.4 : Lord, my father and sovereign of my life, do not abandon me to the advice of my lips.

Eclo 51,8 : My soul will praise the Lord until death.

– In the NT, Jesus reveals to us that God is his Father and ours:

Mt 5,45 : In this way you will be the children of your Father in heaven, for he makes the sun rise.

Mt 6,11-13.25-34 : Give us this day our daily bread.

Mt 7:21 : But he who does the will of my Father.

Mt 10,20-31 : For it will not be you who speak, but it is the Spirit of your Father who will speak in you.

Mt 11,25-27 : I bless you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding.

Mt 13:43 : Then, in the Kingdom of their Father, the righteous will shine like the sun.

Mt 18:14 : This is the will of your heavenly Father, that not one of these little ones should be lost.

Mt 21,33-40 : I heard another parable: there was a family man who planted a vineyard.

Mt 23,9 : And call no one father on earth, for one is your Father, he who is in heaven.

Eph 1 :3 : Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who blessed us from heaven.

– To trust him is to listen to his Word:

Mt 6,10.32 : Your Kingdom come; Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Mt 7:21 : But he who does the will of my Father.

Mt 10,29-31 : However, no one falls to the ground without the will of your Father.

Mc 3,35 : He who does the will of God, that is my brother, my sister and my mother.

– As he taught us:

Mt 6,9-10 : This is how you should pray: OUR FATHER, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Lk 11,1-2 : When you pray, say: Father, hallowed be your name; your Kingdom come.

– And gave us the example:

Mt 26:42 : My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to pass unless I drink it, your will be done!

Jn 4:34 : My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to complete his work.

John 6:38 : For I came down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me.
