Epiphany

– Word that comes from the Greek epipháneia , appearance, manifestation, used to designate the solemnity of the baptism of Christ and also its manifestation in the wedding of Cana:

Mt 3,13-17 : Behold, the heavens were opened and he saw the Spirit of God descending on him in the form of a dove.

Jn 1:14 : And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we saw his glory.

Jn 2,1-12 : This was Jesus’ first miracle; performed it in Cana of Galilee. He manifested his glory.

1Jn 1,1-2 : Because the life appeared, we have seen it.

– The visit-adoration of the Magi to the Child Jesus is also celebrated, as an opportunity in which he reveals himself to foreign peoples:

Mt 2,1-12 : The appearance of that star filled them with deep joy. Entering the house, they found the boy.

Rom 16:25 : According to the revelation of the mystery, kept secret for centuries.

– The Scriptures tell us of the appearance of Jesus Christ on Earth:

1Tm 6,14 : Keep the commandment without spot, blameless, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Tit 2:13 : Looking forward to our happy hope, the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Rev 17:14 : They will make war with the Lamb, but the Lamb will overcome them, for he is Lord of lords.
