Holy

– The command of the Lord: “Be holy because I am holy”, in addition to speaking of this divine attribute, presents the ideal of life for the Israelite people:

Leviticus 11:44-45 : You shall sanctify yourselves and be holy, for I am holy.

Leviticus 19 :2: You shall say this to all the assembly of Israel: Be holy, for I, the Lord your God, am holy.

Leviticus 20:26 : You will be holy to me, for I, the Lord, am holy.

Leviticus 21:8: Thou shalt call the priest holy, because he offers the bread of thy God.

Josh 24:19 : You cannot serve the Lord, for he is a holy God, a jealous God.

Job 6:10 : And I would rejoice in his merciless torment, for not having denied the words of the Holy One.

Psalm 70:22 : Then I will celebrate your faithfulness on the strings of the lyre, I will sing of you on the harp, O Holy One of Israel.

Psalm 98 :5 : Exalt the Lord our God and prostrate yourselves at his footstool, for he is holy.

Ps 144 :17: The Lord is righteous in his ways, and holy in all that he does.

Is 6:3 : Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God of hosts! The whole earth proclaims his glory!

Is 12:6 : Rejoice and be glad, inhabitants of Zion, for the Holy One of Israel is great among you.

Is 30:11 : Get out of the way, get out of the path, stop placing us in the sight of the Holy One of Israel.

Is 40:25 : “To whom then can you compare me, that I may be equal to me?”, says the Saint.

Is 43 :3 : For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your savior.

Hos 11:9: Because I am God and not a man, I am the Holy One in your midst, and I do not like to destroy.

– This goal proposed by God permeates the entire religious life of the chosen people:

Ex 19,6 : But you will be to me a kingdom of priests and a consecrated nation.

– Not only about the people, the priests and Levites, but also the rites, the time:

– By faith and baptism, Christians are united to the Mystical Body of Christ:
