Redeemer

– He is the one who redeems or frees. Among the Israelites, he was the one who had the right to free property and people, in anticipation of the celebrations of the Jubilee year:

Lev 25,23-24,29,47-48 : Therefore, in all the territory of your property, you shall grant the right to redeem the land.

Rt 4,3-4 : If you want to use your right of redemption, do it; if not, tell me, so that I may know what I must do.

– He was also the one who ensured descendants to his dead brother, marrying his sister-in-law:

Gen 38 :8 : Go, take your brother’s wife, fulfill your duty as a levirate, and raise up offspring for your brother.

– God is the great redeemer of Israel, when he brought them out of the slavery of Egypt:

Ex 6,6 : I am the Lord; I will free you from the yoke of the Egyptians and deliver you from their bondage.

Ex 12:27 : Smiting the Egyptians, he passed over the houses of the Israelites in Egypt and preserved our houses.

Ex 14,13 : Do not be afraid! Be of courage, and you will see the liberation that the Lord will work in your favor today.

Ex 15,2 : The Lord is my strength and the object of my song; he was the one who saved me.

Deut 15:15 : Remember that you were in bondage in Egypt, from which you were rescued by the Lord your God.

Is 43,1-2 : Fear not , for I rescue you, I call you by name, you are mine.

Is 50.2 : Do I really have too short a hand to deliver, or do I not have enough strength to save?

Is 63,9 : It was not a messenger or an angel, but his own face that saved them.
