Redemption

– Paul speaks of redemption – rescue from captivity – to indicate our deliverance from sin by Jesus Christ, through his blood:

Mt 20:28 : The Son of Man came, not to be served, but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many.

Mk 10:45 : For the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many.

Rom 3:24 : And they are justified freely by his grace; such is the work of redemption, wrought in Jesus Christ.

Eph 1 :7 : In that Son, through his blood, we have Redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

Col 1:14 : In whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

1Tm 2,6 : Who gave himself as a ransom for all. Such is the fact, attested in its time.
