– Refers to the mysterious Servant of Yahweh referred to by the prophet Isaiah:
Is 42,1-7 : Behold my Servant whom I support, my chosen one to whom I give all my affection.
Is 49,1-6 : And he said to me: “You are my Servant Israel, in whom I will rejoice”.
Is 50,4-10 : The Lord God has given me the tongue of a disciple so that I may know how to comfort the downcast with a word.
Is 52,13–53,8-12 : Behold, my Servant will prosper, he will grow, he will be lifted up, he will be exalted.
– Light of the nations:
Is 49,1-6 : It is not enough that you are my servant to restore the tribes of Jacob I will make you the light of the nations.
– To restore Israel:
Is 49,7-9 : I formed you and appointed you to make a covenant with the peoples, to restore the country.
– To comfort the downcast with words:
Is 50,4-10 : The Lord God has given me the tongue of a disciple so that I may know how to comfort the downcast with a word.
