Holy Scriptures

– In the eyes of the people of Israel it is doubly holy, because it is of divine origin and because it contains the covenant.

– It is from this double character that the authority he enjoys before the Jewish people originates.

– All Sacred Scripture is oriented towards Christ and it is in him that it finds its confirmation and its full crowning:

Mt 1:22 : All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had spoken through the prophet.

Mt 2,15.23 : He remained there until the death of Herod so that what the Lord had said through the prophet might be fulfilled.

Mt 4,14 : So that what was said by the prophet Isaiah would be fulfilled.

Mt 5,17 : Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the prophets.

Mk 14:49 : But this happens so that the Scriptures may be fulfilled.
