Joseph (Marie’s Husband)

– Married to Mary, Mother of Jesus and ours:

Mt 1,18 : This is how Jesus Christ was born: Mary, his mother, was married to Joseph.

Luke 1:27 : To a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David, and the virgin’s name was Mary.

– Informed by the angel:

Mt 1,20-21 : Behold, an angel of the Lord […] said to him: “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife”.

– He went down to Bethlehem:

Luke 2 :4 : Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the city of Nazareth, to Judea, to the City of David, which is called Bethlehem.

– Fled to Egypt:

Mt 2,13-19 : Get up, take the child and his mother and flee to Egypt; stay there until I let you know.

– Returned to Nazareth:

Mt 2,19-23 : With the death of Herod, the angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt.
