Six

– Symbolic number for the Israelites, found in several books of both the OT and the NT, close to the perfect number: seven. Thus, Creation was made by God in six days, and on the seventh he rested:

– Similarly, the Israelites were to eat unleavened bread for six days, and rest on the seventh:

Deut 16:8: For six days you shall eat unleavened bread, and on the seventh day, the day on which you shall not do any work.

– The land would be worked for six years, in the seventh it should rest:

Ex 23,10 : For six years you will sow the land and gather the product.

– The number 6 also appears in the NT: in the sign of Cana, there were six stone waterpots:

Jo 2,6 : Now six stone waterpots were found there for the purification of the Jews.

– There are six Beatitudes:

Mt 25,3-36 : Because I was hungry and you gave me something to eat; I was thirsty and you gave me drink; I was a pilgrim and you welcomed me.

– The sum of the letters of the names of Nero and Caesar in Hebrew was 666:

Rev 13:18 : Calculate the number of the Beast, because it is a man’s number, and that number is six hundred and sixty-six.
