Lapping

– Supplication that consisted of stoning the condemned:

Ex 19,13 : He will not be touched with the hand, but he will be stoned or perish by arrows.

Leviticus 20:2 : The people of the land will stone him.

Leviticus 24:14-15 : Let all who heard him lay their hands on his head, and the whole assembly would stone him.

Deut 13:11 : Thou shalt stone him to death, because he tried to stray from the Lord.

– Jesus saved a woman, who was caught in adultery, from being stoned according to the Law of Moses:

Jn 8,1-11 : The scribes and the Pharisees brought to him a woman who had been caught in adultery.

– He himself escaped being stoned:

Jn 10,31-33 : The Jews picked up stones a second time to stone him.

Jn 11:8 : “Teacher”, they replied, “a little while ago the Jews wanted to stone you, and are you going back there?”.

– Paulo suffered identical threats:

Acts 14:5 : But as if he had raised a riot of the Gentiles and the Jews, with their leaders, to insult and stone them.

2Cor 11:25 : Three times I was scourged with rods. Once stoned.

– Stephen was killed in this way because of his faith in Jesus Christ:

Acts 7:57-58 : They threw him outside the city and started stoning him.
